Aim of the Probus Club of Kitchener Waterloo: To provide meetings for men who appreciate opportunities to meet others and to hear guest speakers on topical subjects, and who may be interested in participating in club special events and interest groups.
Membership: Membership is open to male residents of Waterloo Region who are retired or semi-retired.
Meetings: The club meets monthly, on the last Tuesday of the month at 9:30am at the Waterloo MemorialRecreation Complex - Community Pavilion, 101 Father David Bauer Drive in Waterloo. There are no meetings in July or December.
Annual and Initiation Fees: The club’s fiscal year commences August 1 and the annual dues are due at that time. New members are charged an initiation fee of $30 plus a prorated membership fee based on the months remaining in the fiscal year. For inductees, the fees are payable to the Probus Club of K.W. and are due upon approval of the application for membership.
Process: Prospective applicants for membership are sponsored by a current Club Member who will invite the applicant as a guest to an “introductory” meeting of the Club. When the completed application form is received by the Membership Chairman, it is presented to the Management Committee and a motion to induct the applicant is given. Upon agreement by the committee, the applicant and their sponsor are notified, the amount of the initial fee is made known and arrangements for the induction are made. It is the sponsor’s responsibility to give a brief introduction at the induction.
