Probus Club of Kitchener-Waterloo

A Brief History of the Probus Club of Kitchener-Waterloo

The Probus Club of Kitchener – Waterloo is one of approximately 250 Probus Clubs across Canada, and was founded in April of 1988 with Clay Hall as the Charter President.

The purpose of Probus is to create the opportunity for Professional and business people who are retired or semi-retired to meet regularly, without pressure and with minimum costs, in circumstances which provide new interests and new friends.

The activities of a club are aimed primarily to provide fellowship, hold discussions, hear talks on topical subjects, to plan visits to places of interest and social gatherings for special occasions.  Probus is non-political, non-sectarian and non-fundraising.

Other Probus Clubs are formed with all female members, all male members or have a mix of members.  Our club is a male only club.
