History and Description In 1953 a group of countrymen from the region of Gottschee founded The Alpine Club, with a club house built in 1958. The present building at 464 Maple Avenue, Kitchener includes expansions that were added in 1961 and 1970 . The Alpine Club's biggest party by far is Oktoberfest. These nine days of Gemütlichkeit are filled with live music, dancing, and entertainment by the Alpine Dancers and guest groups. At the Alpine Club, the festival is truly Bavarian but done in traditional Alpine style.Additional information about The Alpine Club is available at https://alpineclub.ca/ |
